Plymouth Corinthian Cycling Club ran its first promotion of the 2015, a 13 mile hilly time trial, early on Sunday 1st March. Despite poor weather leading up to the event the skies cleared to offer the 45 riders clear and sunny conditions, that despite localised flooding, offered almost perfect conditions for a fast time on the circuit. The route takes in a few climbs around Modbury and towards Ugborough before a fast decent through the Erme Valley towards the finish at Ermington. Fastest ride of the day was Veteran rider Conrad Moss (Mid Devon CC)est that showed excellent form to ride the course in a stunning, 29.09, setting a new course record. Fastest female was youth rider Lauren Dolan (Giant CC Halo Films), the 15 year old showed excellent early season form with a time of 36.01. Plymouth Corinthian CC boasted a few great performances, not least due to the club’s swelling numbers. Tom Moran proved to be the best of these with a strong ride to take the Veteran 50s category with a time of 31.12. Tom Cox (Northover VT) took the win in the Veteran 60s category with a time of 36.01.
