Mountain Bike XC

Mountain bike Cross Country racing (XC) rose in popularity in the late 80s and early 90s. Many of the top cyclists in the world came from a mountain biking background and it is a great way to not only build fitness but also to get your first taste of racing a bike.

Mountain bike races in the South West are happening all year round and the club has riders that like to compete off road. Some good mountain bike riders exist in the club, racing at local and national level, and they can offer a wealth of experience if you are thinking about getting into mountain biking, or are just keen to hook up with some like minded people.

Popular events for club members are the Soggy Bottom winter series held at Newnham Park, Plymouth and also the TwentyFour12 (12 or 24 hour race) held at the same venue in July.
